Most founders are trained to push through. To grind. To never quit.
And for the most part, that’s the right instinct. Building a company is brutal and the ones who survive are usually the ones who didn’t give up when everyone else would have.
But there’s a dark side to that mindset. Sometimes the thing you’re pushing through is the thing that’s killing you. And you can’t see it because perseverance has become your identity.
I’ve had to walk away from things four times in my founder journey. Each time at a different scale. And looking back, every single one followed the same pattern - I knew it was the right call long before I made it. I just wasn’t ready to admit it.
